The Good Ol’ Farmhouse
Cabin Description:
The charm of the farmhouse begins when you round the bend and spot the red exterior, beckoning you to turn into the driveway. It pops against the snowy backdrop, evoking images of postcards from bygone years. Built in 1865 with modern updates and add-ons, the home is balanced perfectly between the centuries. Enter the home and you’re greeted with a bright and spacious main floor living space. The old farmhouse dining table is ready for you all to gather and make your own memories around it, adding to the years of memories that come before you. The gorgeous kitchen, open to the dining room, would be where you’ll find me creating 100 delicious reasons to stay there. The only thing tearing me away would be grabbing a book from the huge selection in the living room and sinking into the deep claw foot tub, ready to lose myself to a few chapters. To add a little whimsy to an already charming home there is a hidden room behind a bookcase, no spoilers, you’ll have to find it when you get there. Be sure to take time to explore the home's many antiques, glimpses into the past that really ground you into the present. As the day winds down the fire pit or chiminea will be a welcome sight, glowing with warmth and waiting for ghost stories. A superb ADK basecamp and a family favorite for years to come.
While You're There:
The house is a five minute walk to shops like Dartbrook Rustic and South as well as cozy dining at Forty Six.
