The Gatehouse
Cabin Description:
A massive wall of windows sends out a warm glow at dusk, the interior welcoming you in like a moth to a flame. Look behind you and you see the summit of Okemo Mountain across the valley. It might be July but you’re dreaming of fresh powder days and hot cocoa at the lodge. You make your way in and it is a midcentury dream come true. Built as a Howard Johnson Gatehouse, the home still welcomes folks from all over to enjoy the spoils of Vermont's beauty. Recently brought fully to life by the hosts of The Okemo A-Frame, this handsome A is the newest addition to the family. A modern freshness blends seamlessly with the 1970s vibes making for a unique stay. If you choose the bedroom downstairs you’ll fall asleep under the loving watch of Okemo Mountain, by James Niehues. Head up the spiral staircase to the loft bedroom, a cozy nook to cuddle in after a long day of exploration. Now you may have noticed a certain nostalgic bubble tube sticking out of the wall in the main room, make your way to the second loft and you’ll find that as well as classic NBA Jam and bean bag chairs, the perfect flop space. Turn up the good vibes and partake in a jam sesh with the provided acoustic guitar and hand drum. The nightcap will absolutely be a hot tub soak under a blanket of stars in the Vermont sky.
While You're There:
You’re in the Okemo Valley babe! Get out and explore! Downtown Ludlow has oodles of good grub but we loved Tacos Tacos for lunch and we always swing into TPW Coffee for a little caffenation.
Great For:
Friends and small families
